Sagirah Layne is a poet that goes by the pen name “Trust”. A fiery young lady with the blood of Brooklyn and Grenada in her veins and heart, Trust is a force to be reckoned with.

Trust has a deep passion for the arts. In addition to writing, she plays the piano and the violin, as well as knits and crochets. In her day to day life, she is an accountant with most of her clients in the entertainment industry.

Her first book, “the Rise of the Dope Black Woman” was self-published in April 2020. Separated into various stages of life, these poems reflect stories that many people can relate to trying their hardest to live, love and remain grateful, without crashing and burning.
